Sex Therapy
This is a space free of judgment, shame, or awkward silences.
Your intimacy, connection, and comfort in your own body are our priority.
Are you ready to work through the barriers standing between you and a fulfilling, connected sex life? Our sex therapy services offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to explore concerns around intimacy, desire, and connection, whether you're coming in on your own or with a partner.
What Is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy designed to help you address concerns related to intimacy, sexual function, desire, and connection. It involves working with a trained therapist who creates a safe, shame-free space to talk openly about topics that can feel difficult to bring up anywhere else.
Sex therapy does not involve any physical touch or in-session activity. It's a conversation-based process where your therapist helps you understand what's getting in the way of the intimacy you want, whether the roots are emotional, relational, physical, or a combination of all three.
Sex Therapy for Couples and Individuals in Ontario
Sex therapy is available for couples and individuals across Ontario, at any stage of a relationship or any stage of understanding your own sexuality.
For couples, sessions focus on rebuilding intimacy, improving communication around sex, and working through mismatched desire or unresolved hurt that's affecting your connection.
For individuals, sessions might focus on your relationship with your own body, past experiences, or patterns you want to understand better.
The process typically involves a series of sessions where your therapist helps you build the vocabulary, safety, and insight needed to talk about sex in a way that feels honest instead of avoidant.
You Might Be Here Because You're Struggling With…
Mismatched Desire or Low Libido
You and your partner want different things when it comes to sex, or your own desire has changed in ways that feel confusing or frustrating.
Difficulty with Intimacy or Connection
Sex feels distant, mechanical, or disconnected from emotional closeness, and you're not sure how to bridge that gap.
Painful Sex or Sexual Dysfunction
You're dealing with pain, performance concerns, or other physical barriers that are affecting your confidence and your relationship.
Impact of Trauma or Shame on Your Sex Life
Past experiences, cultural messaging, or shame around sex are making it hard to feel present, safe, or free in your intimate relationships.
Online Sex Therapy for Ontario Couples and Individuals
Sex therapy is available online across Ontario, giving you the flexibility to do this work from a space where you feel most comfortable. Many people find it easier to open up about sex from the privacy of their own home, and online sessions make consistent care accessible no matter where in Ontario you're located.
Our Approach
Sessions draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based care, alongside specialized training in sexual health, including Sex as a Safe Adventure with Zoya Simakhodskaya, PhD, and Michael Moran, PhD, LCSW, CST. This means the focus isn't only on the sexual concern itself, but on the emotional safety and connection that intimacy is built on.
I specialize in supporting BIPOC individuals, interracial and intercultural relationships, and first-generation immigrants for whom cultural messaging around sex can add another layer of complexity to this work.
